CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES.

Imagen
CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES. Controversial issues, are topics on which different groups have built irreconcilable arguments. Therefore, they divide society.    WHAT IS A CONTROVERSY?  A controversy is the discussion of opposing views between two or more people. Perennial areas of controversy include religion, philosophy, politics, science, sports, and even entertainment. WHAT IS DISCRIMINATION? It is the unequal treatment of a person or community for reasons of race, religion, physical, political, gender, age, physical or mental condition, sexual orientation, etc.1 In moral philosophy, discrimination has been defined as a “disadvantageous” treatment or consideration. This definition is comparative: a person does not have to be harmed to be discriminated against, he simply has to be treated "worse" than others for arbitrary reasons.2 The initial reaction or interaction that happens to a group influences the actual behavior of the individual towards the group. own group or its leade

Some common uncountable nouns are entities such as information, water, and furniture, or abstract nouns, such as happiness or anger. These nouns cannot be used with numbers and are used without an article. Characteristics of uncountable nouns: *Cannot be counted. For example: I'd like some water. Yes, they can be preceded by possessive adjectives (my, your) or the definite article (the). The unreal conditional.

The unreal conditional. The Present Unreal Conditional is used when referring to unreal, imaginary or impossible conditions and their results. Both- If Clause and Result Clause, present the unreal result of the condition. Example:   *If I lived in the palace, I would give parties all the time. (But I don't live in a palace, so I don't give parties.) *If I had a car, I would drive everywhere. The verb in the If Clause is shown in simple past tense. In the Result Clause the auxiliary Would + base form of the verb is used. Example: * If Luisa went to Cusco, she would spend a great time  The If Clause uses the simple past tense, but the meaning does not refer to the past. *If I had money now, I would supply many things to myself.  -Do not use the auxiliary Would in the If Clause in present unreal conditional sentences. *If I bought some flowers to Mary, she would be happy. -Use Were for all people when the verb in the If Clause is in the basic form (be). * If I were a king, I wou

INVENTIONS AND DISCOVERIES

INVENTIONS AND DISCOVERIES. The most important discovery. For me, the most important discovery is Wifi, it is a tool that allows us to connect to the Internet without using cables. Currently more than 4,000 million people worldwide have access to the internet and a large part of them obtain it through Wi-Fi. Also, this is perhaps the most useful tool for those who work in an office. Some of the main benefits of this technology are: *Easy to use Accessing a Wi-Fi network is easier than you imagine. Just by entering the username and password you will have the possibility to surf the internet with any mobile device. Best of all, after you connect for the first time, your network data will be stored on whatever electronic device you're using. One of the advantages of Wi-Fi are: * Being wireless networks, the convenience they offer is far superior to wired networks because anyone who has access to the network can connect from different points within a sufficiently wide ran

Holiday and traditions. The holiday or holiday is one that is not a business day (in the workplace) or that is not a business day (in the procedural field), and can be Sunday (in most countries of the world), Saturday (in countries influenced by Jewish culture) or Friday (in countries influenced by Islamic culture). EXAMPLE:  Christmas Eve is the holiday in which Christians celebrate the eve of Christmas Day or the Nativity of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated on the night of December 24, since the Christian Church officially establishes December 25 as the day of the birth of Jesus. On the other hand, according to tradition, a hearty dinner is held in private homes among family and close friends. The food served depends on the traditions of each country. In Mexico, for example, stuffed turkey is usually eaten. Some make dinner before Midnight Mass, others do it after and others substitute Midnight Mass for dinner. Another of the symbols of Christmas Eve is the exchange of gifts. Present
